FlowOut Portable AC Window-Panel Adapter

FlowOut is the straight-out portable-AC window-panel adapter for sliding windows, sliding doors and portable ACs using 5 in or 5.9 in exhaust hose.

FlowOut sends hot exhaust directly through the panel opening rather than redirecting it downward. It is the simpler choice when the window or door opening is clear of the exhaust outlet and there is no nearby outward-opening sash to deflect hot air back toward the panel.

Best suited for

• Sliding windows — ideal where the sash slides beside the panel and does not sit directly in front of the exhaust outlet.
• Sliding doors — a clean straight-through exhaust connection for taller custom door panels.
• 5 in hose systems — supports the less-common 5 in hose size still found on some older and specialty portable AC units.
• 5.9 in hose systems — supports the common 5.9 in portable-AC exhaust hose size.

FlowOut or FlowDown?

Choose FlowOut when the exhaust can travel straight through the panel without an open window sash sitting close to the outlet. This makes it especially well suited to sliding windows and sliding doors.

Choose FlowDown for casement and awning windows where an outward-opening sash can sit close to the exhaust opening. FlowDown includes a directional scoop that sends hot exhaust downward and away from the sash.

Why exhaust direction matters

Hot exhaust that is blocked or redirected back toward the panel can increase heat around the window, panel and exhaust connection. Keeping the exhaust path clear helps reduce heat buildup around the panel and mounting adhesive and helps the portable AC exhaust system operate as intended.

Secure, removable panel connection

FlowOut uses a purpose-made four-tab twist-lock connection. The locking tabs align with the matching panel cutout and engage as the adapter is twisted into place, creating a firm mechanical connection to the panel.

Once locked, the adapter stays securely connected without screws, bolts or permanent fastening through the panel. To remove it for storage, cleaning or seasonal use, simply twist it back to the release position and lift it out. Reinstallation is just as easy: align it with the cutout and twist it securely back into place.

Panel material compatibility

Designed for 5/32 in (approximately 4 mm) panel material. The twist-lock connection works well with accurately cut acrylic, PVC sheet, corrugated plastic, cardboard and suitable wood sheet products, provided the material is rigid enough to securely support the adapter and the matching cutout is reproduced accurately.

If hook-and-loop is being used to mount the finished panel to the window frame, adhesion is best on clean, smooth PVC or metal surfaces. Adhesive hook-and-loop is not recommended on raw wood, painted wood, dusty, porous or deteriorated surfaces.

Panel cutout

FlowOut uses its matching four-tab twist-lock panel cutout. The same cutout can be used in compatible 5/32 in acrylic, corrugated plastic and other suitable panel materials.

Important: FlowOut is intended for custom portable-AC window and door panels using its matching cutout. It is not intended as a universal replacement for every factory portable-AC window kit.
